Injury Management Service Company
StatCare offers a complete range of services to support our clients:
On-Site Medical Case Management - For severe injuries requiring direct intervention by a nurse case manager or for long-term problematic cases where an expected result has not been achieved. StatCare offers on-site services to facilitate the desired outcome. Upon referral, the StatCare nurse immediately initiates a four-point contact (i.e., adjuster, employer, injured worker and physician). Once completed, an Initial Assessment interview is conducted with the injured worker within the first 14 days of receipt. Every 30 days following the Initial Assessment, StatCare provides a Progress Report. In addition, the StatCare nurse will provide verbal and email updates to the adjuster each week.
Telephonic Medical Case Management - The key to controlling workers’ compensation costs is the prompt reporting of injuries and illnesses, then Rapid Response. StatCare provides the immediate response capability for cases requiring intervention by a nurse case manager. StatCare is most effective when we help clients select the injury categories based upon analysis of claims data to identify the frequency and severity of expenditures for medical treatments and/or lost time. Claims are flagged by the first report of injury to assure immediate transmission to StatCare. Once the claim is received, a StatCare nurse immediately initiates an intensive three-point contact (i.e. injured worker, physician and client) to:
- Establish a Complete Job Description
- Evaluate Modified Duty Options
- Assess Mechanism of Injury
- Assess Physical Complaints and Employee Needs
- Negotiate Return to Work Options with the Physician
- Coordinate Referrals to Best in Class Physicians
- Create a Goal Oriented Treatment Plan focused on the physical requirements of the job
The use of functional goals allows the StatCare nurse to establish a methodology to objectively measure an injured worker’s progress back to work and to Maximum Medical Improvement.
Vocational Rehabilitation Services - Occasionally, an injured worker cannot regain the physical abilities to return to work for their employer. StatCare vocational counselors work diligently to bring cases to closure within 90 days of referral. Resolution consists of either job placement with a new employer or detailed documentation of the attempts to find suitable employment for appropriate settlement.
Catastrophic Case Management – StatCare Catastrophic Case Management services provide rapid intervention, 24/7, for clients with severe and traumatic injuries. Upon receipt of referral, a StatCare nurse will immediately travel to the hospital to assess the injury and begin care management.
Independent Medical Evaluations – StatCare’s nurse case managers coordinate IME’s for disability ratings using “best in class” physicians. The StatCare nurse will schedule and coordinate the appointment, review the medical records, customize a detailed letter summarizing treatment, ensure employee attendance and follow-up with the adjuster.
Job Analysis – A StatCare nurse will analyze an injured person’s job. From the information gathered, a functional job description will be developed for use in establishing goals for rehabilitation
This service may also be used to assess the physical abilities of New Hires to meet the physical demands of their job (injury prevention).
Peer Review – If significant issues are identified, StatCare has the ability to generate medical Peer-to-Peer reviews of cases. This process involves referral to StatCare’s Medical Director for review and disposition.
